Amberleaf Home is pleased to share that Lawson House has received the Chicago Building Congress (CBC) Merit Award for Renovation & Adaptive Reuse Over $20 Million, awarded in May 2024. This award recognizes the significant contributions of renovation projects that enhance the economic, social, and aesthetic value of their communities.
The Lawson House project restored a historic YMCA building, transforming it into 409 affordable apartments while preserving its iconic Art Deco architecture. Amberleaf Home supplied custom kitchen and bath cabinetry for all units, blending modern functionality with the building’s historic charm. Our made in Chicago cabinetry was selected to complement the building’s architectural heritage while meeting the demands of modern living.
This award highlights the importance of adaptive reuse in urban development, and we are proud to have been a part of this successful transformation. For more details, visit the official announcement on the Chicago Building Congress website.
